Christ Episcopal Church is a mission of the Diocese of Georgia, one of 73 congregations serving Georgia

Our mission is to give glory to Almighty God through worship, prayer, song and service.  To celebrate is love through His Son, Jesus Christ, and share our celebration with others.  By His Holy Spirit, word and sacraments we will strive to grow in faith and to understand and follow His direction.

         Dennis Reddick Scholarship Golf Tournament

A WONDERFUL TIME WAS HAD BY ALL THAT ATTENDED AND PARTICIPATED IN THE GOLF TOURNAMENT LAST FRIDAY (APRIL 17TH).  THE WEATHER WAS BEAUTIFUL, THE SNACKS WERE DELICIOUS AND EVEN THOUGH NOBODY WON THE $10,000.00 THE DAY WAS A SUCCESS.  PICTURES WILL BE FORTHCOMING SO WATCH THIS WEB SITE TO SEE EVERYONE. THE WINNERS OF THE SCHOLARSHIPS, ALONG WITH THEIR PARENTS,  WILL BE INVITED TO JOIN US AT OUR THURSDAY NIGHT WORSHIP SERVICE SO THAT WE CAN GET TO KNOW THESE DESERVING YOUNG PEOPLE.  TENTATIVE DATE THE 16TH OF JULY.

  RELAY FOR LIFE

Again this year, Christ Church participated in 'Relay for Life' to raise money for cancer research.  The women held a wine and cheese party where each one invited was asked to bring a decorated bra.  The party was so successful and the bras were so delightful that it was decided to show them off at the Relay for Life.  A tent was set up and labeled Ta-Ta Peep Show.  Between Denise Silcox (in the clown suit) and Cody Stripling (behind the sign) $121 was raised.  The charge for the peep show was 50 cents - and everyone enjoyed seeing the creativity of the women of Christ Church.  All in all, Christ Church raised $2,606.00 for the Relay and Crisp County raised a total of $73,000.  We are looking forward to a year when there will be no need for the relay because cancer will have been cured.  Please pray for this.

A Prayer for those Serving in the Military

Almighty God, we commend to your gracious care and keeping all the men and women of our armed forces at home and abroad.  Defend them day by day with your heavenly grace, strengthen them in their trials and temptations, give them courage to face the perils which beset them, and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen

FOOD PANTRY:     Many, many thanks to Lori Perkins for her generous offer of a percentage of her Mary Kay business to be given to the food pantry.  She gave the pantry an awesome check last week that will be used for replenishing our shelves.  Ladies, if you need any cosmetics, please consider seeing Lori.  We appreciate you all.
