Worship on the
Water
Worship on the Water is a seasonal outreach ministry of
Christ Church. From Memorial Day Sunday until Labor Day Sunday, an
informal worship service is held on the Resort dock at the Georgia
Veteran's Memorial State Park. Begun in 2005 as the brain child of
the Evangelism Ministry Team, this exciting ministry is entering its
fifth year. For complete information, visit our website at

Evangelism
Ministry Team
Our Evangelism Ministry Team is always
looking for new ways to share the good news that God
loves us each and every one. They work to bring
visibility to Christ Church, and to offer places for
easy entry into the work and life of this
congregation.
Whether that's feeding new teachers in Crisp County
Schools... sponsoring a Blessing of the Animals...
inviting friends to join us decorating for
Christmas... or simply following up with visitors
who come worship, this high-energy crowd is
constantly opening doors and making friends.
Outreach Ministry
Team
Outreach involves what we can do to meet
the needs of others. One of the most recent projects
was finding a sister congregation in the devastated
Mississippi Gulf to assist in their rebuilding.
Contacts were established with the Dioceses of
Mississippi and Louisiana just as soon as Katrina
cleared out enough to offer assistance. After
numerous conversations, Christ Church, Cordele has
joined with
Christ Church, Bay St. Louis, Mississippi to
offer what modest resources we have in the face of
their monumental task of rebuilding. You can learn
more about our sister congregation by clicking on
Christ Church, Mississippi.
Another Outreach ministry of our part of God's
family is The Little Red Wagon... a monthly
food collection which fills our pantry with staples
and canned goods to assist those in need. The idea,
growing out of a suggestion from two of our newest
members, lets us help in tangible ways, literally
bringing our offerings forward during our worship.
Youth Ministry
Team
From the youngest child to the nearly
adult, Christ Church is looking to offer each person
who participates in the life of this church family a
place to learn about God's love for them and for all
people. At Christ Church, we don't believe that
children are the church of the future... they're the
church today! Several of our older youth have been
very active on the diocesan level, participating in
youth events in the best Diocesan youth program in
the Southeast Province. One of our members is
Co-Chair of the Diocesan Youth Commission.
Locally, our young folk are invited to a hands-on
ministry of service, responsibility, and great
fellowship. If you'd like to know more, send us an
email... or better yet, drop by some Sunday morning
or Thursday evening to see for yourself.
Parish Life
Ministry Team
We don't forget ourselves. We know that
in order to be able to minister to others, we need
to be healthy and loved ourselves. The folk who find
a ministry in Parish Life are the ones that feed
us... literally and figuratively. Whether it's
planning a luncheon on a special occasion,
coordinating mid-week meals, or arranging that
fantastic party or reception, the ongoing ministry
of hospitality and welcome are focused through these
dedicated givers. |
